Lawyer(s)

Our Grande Prairie location is rapidly growing. We are looking for an Associate Lawyer to join our busy practice. We pride ourselves on the comradery of our team. We work hard to succeed and providing quality legal services is our number one priority.

Our team of lawyers primarily practice in the areas of  Real Estate, Corporate and Commercial, Wills and Estates and Mediation/Arbitration. However, our firm is expanding to meet the needs of our clients. Our mission is to grow and diversify, therefore expertise in various areas of law is an asset.

Newer calls, including prospective articling students, may be considered for the position. The candidate must be self-motivated, competent, confident, and eager to take on new challenges. Above all, the ideal candidate must have high ethical standards when dealing with clients and zealously advocate on their behalf and in their best interests.  

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor of Laws from an accredited Canadian Law school; 

  • 2 - 4 years experience; 

  • Current member of the Law Society of Alberta; 

  • Strong drafting, negotiation and communication skills; 

  • Highly focused with attention to detail; a motivated self-starter; and 

  • Experience with and ability to handle all phases of litigation from initial consultation through trial.

Conveyancing Paralegal(s)

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Primarily assisting the real estate department;

  • Drafting sale, purchase and refinance files;

  • Reporting on all real estate transactions;

  • Meeting tight deadlines;

  • Answering phones;

  • Greeting clients as they enter the office;

  • Opening and disbursing daily mail, courier packages and other deliveries; and

  • Providing administrative support to all members of the office.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:

  •  Legal assistant diploma of certificate

  • 2 years of experience in a related field 

Successful applicants should:

  • Have good technical skills, including proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Excel, and Outlook);

  • Experience with Real Estate transactions is considered an asset;

  • Experience with softwares such as, esilaw and econveyance are considered an asset;

  • Have a strong knowledge of basic office operations;

  • Be comfortable working in a busy law practice;

  • Be mature, trustworthy, and a team player;

  • Have great organizational skills and be attentive to detail; and

  • Be fluent in English, written and verbal, with fluency in other languages being an asset.

Legal Assistant(s)

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Completing administrative duties; 

  • Drafting correspondence; 

  • Greeting clients; 

  • Opening and distributing mail; 

  • Taking payments; and 

  • Completing tasks upon request. 

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certificate or diploma in business admin or legal assistant

  • 1-2 years of experience in a related field 

Successful applicants should:

  • Have good technical skills, including proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Excel, and Outlook);

  • Have a strong knowledge of basic office operations;

  • Be comfortable working in a busy law practice;
